MRO Manager

Reports to:    Supply Chain Manager

Department:   Supply Chain

Job Summary:  This is a key position within the Supply Chain group that is responsible for facilitating, executing and maintaining relationships and agreements with AeroVision’s entire MRO/Vendor base.

MRO Selection

  • Serve as the contact to AeroVision’s entire MRO and Vendor Base.
  • Work collaboratively internally with Technical Services, Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to streamline and coordinate all MRO/Vendor communication and activities.
  • Actively seek and develop partnerships with new vendors for aircraft, engine and component repair and maintenance.
  • In collaboration with AVI Contracts Manager, negotiate and execute contract pricing, Long-term Agreements (LTA’s) and Rebate Agreements with new and/or existing vendors.
  • Responsible for vetting current and additional MRO’s though AVI Vendor selection process in accordance with AVI Quality Policy.
  • Develop an approved MRO Vendor Matrix to be used in business case development and pre-RTP/pre-Sale analysis.
  • Maintain consistent communication with MRO/Vendor to understand changing capabilities, prices, TAT, current capacity, etc. Keep MRO Vendor Matrix updated accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Vendors and internal Supply Chain Representative to rectify problems and concerns, to improve performance metrics and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Generate and distribute on predefined schedule Vendor Scorecards:
    • Obtain vendor TAT and repair/maintenance spend from internal Supply Chain Rep.
    • Analyze and report MRO vendor performance.
    • Conduct regular comparative analyses on MRO/Vendor base and present opportunities for improvement.
  • Visit MRO/Vendors as needed. Coordinate Vendor visits to AVI.
  • Perform Vendor audits as required in conjunction with AVI Quality Manager.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to interact well with both internal and external customers/suppliers over the phone and in person.
  • Very detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize projects with competing deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Access.
  • Capable of multi-tasking – demonstrated ability to move between tasks/priorities.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Keen focus on continuous improvement.
  • Some Domestic and International travel required.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years equivalent experience.
